Hi, I’m Sarah, and I’m passionate about helping couples rebuild their relationship into one marked by healthy communication, connection, and friendship! Whether you are looking for a relationship tune-up, or you’re feeling hopeless about the future of your relationship, I am here to help.

Clients often tell me that I help them feel truly understood, both by me and within their relationship. I prioritize creating a non-judgmental, empathetic environment because there’s nothing worse than feeling like your counsellor is shocked by your experience or biased against you. My goal is to help you and your partner move from feeling stuck and misunderstood to feeling supported, connected, and confident navigating challenges together.

How will we do this?

We will use the gold standards for couple’s counselling: the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. We will start by identifying where you and your partner started to feel disconnected, identify the strengths and challenges in your relationship, and use evidence-based interventions to address your main concerns. We’ll start by addressing the issues that are most important to you both so you can start to feel hopeful about your relationship’s future.

In sessions, we’ll identify ways of communicating that are preventing you from feeling heard and practice communicating in a different way. We’ll also focus on understanding what triggers disconnection between you and your partner and practice small, science-based steps to restore emotional connection. We’ll track the unconscious cycles that keep you and your partner stuck so you can break old patterns and strengthen your connection. I will integrate tools from Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy and Internal Family Systems to help you regulate your nervous system in triggering situations.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and our community, enjoying nature, baking, and creating “do-it-yourself” home or health projects.
